IBM announced that Pexim Solutions has adopted IBM’s data, process and service models for banking, as well as its consulting services, to provide risk-oriented business intelligence and core banking solutions to financial institutions in emerging markets. IBM calls this combination of models the IBM Information Framework.
Pexim’s Tezauri offering -- an integrated business intelligence solution for enterprise risk management, profitability analysis, legal and regulatory compliance, customer relationship management, and Basel II compliance – was built using IBM’s Banking Data Warehouse. Tezauri is now used by Banca Intesa of Belgrade, which was able to get up and running with the application in less than two months. Tezauri is also in use at CA Meridian Bank and is being deployed this year at Privredna Banka Beograd and Ohridska Banka.
“After I started using our new business intelligence system, I got a complete view of the most valuable information, based on corporate data sources,” says Sanja Virijevic, an executive manager at Banca Intesa. “Every morning, the first thing that I do is go on my personal site and analyze a business scorecard that contains most recent values of key performance indicators of our business. The user interface is very sophisticated, easy to use, intuitive, and attractive. The system is reliable. Information produced as a result of complex analysis of large volumes of data can now be obtained in a matter of seconds. That is all I need,” Virijevic says.
Pexim’s forthcoming suite of retail banking applications, called Revolution, will also draw on IBM’s deep experience in the banking industry. The new applications are being based on the process and service models of the IBM Information FrameWork. When commercially available, the Revolution suite will provide small banks and banks in emerging markets with comprehensive applications in the areas of core banking, delivery channels, and business intelligence.
“IBM’s Banking Data Warehouse model and the other models in the Information Framework are helping us bring new banking solutions to the marketplace with unprecedented speed,” says Bojan Ciric, line of business manager for business intelligence at Pexim. “The expertise of IBM’s financial services consulting practice helps us throughout the development process. This business relationship gives Pexim an important competitive edge with our clients.”
“As a result of our relationship with Pexim, a growing number of banks in emerging markets are reaping the benefits of IBM’s expertise in the banking industry,” says IBM Paul Clandillon, IBM’s program director for banking industry models. “These banks have the security of knowing that Tezauri and Revolution are based on industry best practices, which IBM will continue to enhance to meet new requirements such as the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive announced last October with the addition of its new Financial Markets Industry Models.”
