The Legal Database Information System includes valid laws and regulations of the Republic of Macedonia, repealed regulations which are important for the judiciary, ratified international agreements and other legally binding international acts, selected court’s practice of the Supreme Court of Macedonia, commentaries, opinions and other legal texts.

The Legal Database can be easily and efficiently searched by using the following search criteria:

• Full-text search
• Search by title of the document
• Combination of the aforesaid criteria
• Keywords search
• Advanced search
• Meta-data search

Technical Architecture
The application is developed on Microsoft platform including:

• Operating system - Windows Server 2003
• Database - Microsoft SQL Server 2000
• Indexing service - Microsoft Indexing Service
• Application server - Microsoft Internet Information Server
• Development tool - Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
• Running platform - Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

The Legal Database will be available free of charge to all the institutions in the judiciary of the Republic of Macedonia. The Legal Database is one of the components in the comprehensive program of modernization of IT sectors in the courts and other institutions in the judiciary, and also one of the key elements in the process of justice reform in the Republic of Macedonia, in terms of harmonization and integration with the European Union.
